The descendents of the Sisters, known as the Avalon Senshi, are spread over the land, in cities and in towns, in farms in the countryside, and in Avalon, where a small gathering of their order persists. Anyone with the blood of one of the Sisters could possibly have senshi power. Some of these will be people from Avalon, descendents who have never left, and others may come from cities and towns and be modern people. These people don't have a special, ancient senshi name of any sort, they merely possess the ability to transform and wield magic. They are Tier Three senshi, with weak magical abilities but natural talents. They may or may not know of their abilities. Chances are they have noticed that they are different from other people. They have no appointed guardians, but the Avalonians possess various charms which can identify other Avalon descendents. Your character options are as follows:

  • a character from Avalon, trained in the use of his or her powers, who may or may not possess a charm which can find other Avalon Senshi and probably knows from whom they are descended
  • a character from outside Avalon who retains ties to Avalon and has mastered his or her powers and probably knows from whom they are descended
  • a character from outside Avalon who has discovered a few powers, but will probably require some help in mastering them
  • a character from outside Avalon who has no idea they're descended from Avalon and very little inkling about their powers
  • The nine lineages are:
Morgan, Moronoe, Mazoe, Gliten, Glitonea, Cliton, Tyronoe, Thitis, Morgause
  • Please remember that your senshi are related to one another, however distantly, and try to leave some leeway for future applicants.

The Avalonian FAQ

1.) This is asking a lot, but could I get a general overview of the culture there? How big is the community? What contact do they have with the outside world?

Avalon is a nice little island community run by trade, druidic in nature, lead by a blind seer currently about the age of thirty; the leader is always a seer born into the role, and there are always one or two little blind girls being trained at the same time.

Since the Avalonians have ties to their brethren in England, I'd say that although they do not embrace technology, they know a fair whack about how modern England works. Possibly they also get some modern Avalonians visiting; Avalonians do go out into the world and then come back, so make your own conclusions.

Everyone on Avalon is generally born there, unless someone had left the island, had a child, and then came back with the child. Would be a very rare special circumstance, though.

2.) Where is Avalon, anyhow? Is it in the same place as Glastonbury, only not? Is it somewhere else entirely? Is "where" even a fair question?

It's a little magical isle permanently sat somewhere that can only be found if the island wants you to find it. Time works the same there as in everywhere else. (Sorry, Gargoyles fans.)

3.) Can there be more than one senshi in the same line at a time, or is it a "once in every generation, one buttkicker is born" thing? Are senshi accorded any special status in Avalon? Is *everyone* in Avalon a senshi?

No, you may apply for any line of senshi. We have a Cliton, but you may apply for another Cliton. She would be somehow related to the existing one, perhaps very distantly, perhaps not-so-distantly. They would also probably not have the same power sphere.

Everyone in Avalon is a bloodline descendant, but like the majority of descendants, most don't possess enough talent to actually be of any use in battles and the like. They're essentially minor NPC senshi. Every once in a while, yes, a buttkicker is born. It's the more powerful magical ones that are the more important ones. The most powerful magical power is generally accorded to direct female descendants.
