> # Location: Roanoke > # Senshi: Sombrero, Astronomia/Galaxia Senshi of Weeds > # Name: Haydn Cyningesleah > # Meaning: Roughly; Heathen of the Dotted King's Wood > Haydn # Welsh # Heathen # Tami and I rather enjoyed Haydn as a name. It -is- too cool. > Brycen # Irish Gaelic # Dotted # Dotted with weeds, mayhaps? > Cyningesleah # Old English # King's Wood # I am a cruel, cruel person. > # Age: Toning it down a notch, he is sixteen. (Colin, if I could I would make either younger or older, believe me I would, but Haydn's been paired with someone already.) > # Birthdate: November 28th (No more December) > # Astrological Sign: Saggitarius. > # Blood Type: AB+ > # Family: father, mother, and younger brother. > Father: Tiernan Cyningesleah # Sheep farmer XD # In Wales # 39 years o'age > Tiernan is a rumbly sort-of man. He has a sort-of manner around him that is -very- rough in the nature he seems uneducated. He speaks with a low, throaty Welsh farm accent (actually, who really doesn't farm over in Wales ^_- I'm allowed to poke fun XD), sort-of stutters when he talks, and often uses the wrong word in the wrong context. Tiernan may best be described as a simple man. Not in brains, but in the fact he doesn't need worldly goods or anything too extreme to keep him happy and content. All he really needs is his sheep and his family. He's pretty easy to keep happy, though Haydn finds it extremely odd his father chooses to talk more to the sheep than to him or his brother. > > He wasn't born into particular wealth or poverty. Just into a middle class farming family (his family has owned the farm for as long as anyone can trace the family history back to; it's something the Cyningesleah's are extremely proud of ;D). Tiernan was always somewhat of a complacent fellow, even as a mere youngster. He rarely got riled up and when he did it was never too bad. He'd just mutter darkly and go spin wool; something he still does when he is upset. He was never good at confrontation, still isn't, so it's not nearly a wonder why he lets his wife get away with so much of the stuff he does. > > He didn't have many friends growing up, instead he chose his sheep. He always had a knack for animals; some sort-of a talent, I'd suppose. Rather the peacemaker, he kept his nose out of things, and let the cookie crumble the way it wanted to. He never got involved with issues of the people around him; he just would watch and observe. He was fascinated with how people acted, often wondering what made a certain person act a certain way. He was known in his family as the quiet one, which is odd considering he was the oldest of three. His sisters, both wonderfully obnoxious and loud women, adore Tiernan to no need and find it, to their amusement, to harass him whenever they have the chance. Yes, Tiernan's life growing up was being tormented by his younger sisters; from being dressed up like a girl to being depantsed in front of his girlfriend, they did it all to him. He took it all with good grace and never grew upset and/or rose his face. Instead, Tiernan would merely smile, nod, and maybe enjoy a laugh or two. > > He did well in school, studying whenever he had time (which was actually a lot). Remember, Tiernan didn't have very many friends so all he had time for -was- homework. This didn't bother him, though. He knew he wanted to be a farmer, but he also knew he was a bit of a dreamer who was intrigued with the reasons behind things, people, and the world. Tiernan could often become lost in his thoughts, given the opportunity. He decided to apply for Durham, a rather selective school who had a good reputation for agricultural science and philosophy. His major would become philosophy, while the other his minor. A philosophy major farmer; go figure, eh? > > Attitude-wise, Tiernan is the easiest man to get along with. He is happy-go-lucky, rather content, ever smiling, and adorable in the manner he never knows what is going on. He's rather optimistic in behaviour and tends to put up with -everything-. He never seems to get upset, always seems to be calm and cool, and loves to lose himself in a pint with his buddies. Haydn thinks his father is a fairly nice guy, if not a bit of a pushover. He does use this to his advantage, though; knowing he can get his father to agree to anything. Haydn and Tiernan are actually a considerable amount alike, though don't say that to Haydn. > > Tiernan is famous for the fiery red hair (from his Irish background) that peppers the colors amassed in Haydn's hair and -is- the color of Rhys's flaming red hair. He keeps it cut in the same shaggy style that Hayden has; falling over his eyes and tucking behind his ears with strands of various shapes and sizes, but in contrast Tiernan keeps his hair under a plaid cap. His eyes are a light green in color with thick, curly lashes framing the outsides. He has wrinkles around the outside of his eyes, stretching from the corner to his temple. Above his eyes are dusty red eyebrow that are furry and sort-of wild, though thin. He's not exceptionally tall, standing in at five foot eight inches with a very slight podge due to good-meals and lack of exercise (his podge isn't very much as the Cyningesleah's are known for fast metabolisms). In clothing style, Tiernan wears flannel and pants, rather normal clothes in all aspects, but never anything nice. Unless he is surprising Annis with dinner, which is a different thing all together. > > Mother: Annis Cyningesleah # Biochemist Engineer # In Wales # 40 > Annis is a strong woman. No other words can really be used to describe her. She is just a very strong, opinionated, sure-of-herself woman. She knows what she wants and she knows how to get what she wants. Haydn is rather afraid of his mum. > > Do you remember when your mother used to complain about that one one woman? She was the one who was bossy, confident, and overbearing. She always babbled about -her- children, how things should be run (according to her), and tried to change everything to her liking? Yeah, that would be Annis with the superheroesque attitude that would drive all other mum's mad. She has a very go-to attitude, which sound absolutely lovely, but on the flip side Annis is not what we'd call a team player. More of a 'lone shark' (haha get it! LONE/LOAN SHARK! HAHAHA! ... that was really lame). > > Even from a young age Annis was very ambitious, driven, and goal-orientated. She often chose to ignore her elementary schoolmates, declaring them unfit to talk to. In her secondary schooling she point-blank refused to associate with her schoolmates, declaring them gossipy, annoying twits. Annis is -not- know for her tact. She is honest and not afraid to say how she really feels. Is this good? Is this bad? That's for you to decide. She is a very hard-worker; capable and able. She never gives up and is very passionate about what she does and believes in. Annis can be construed as very obnoxious, due to the fact she acts like she knows everything (which is more true than naught). > > Her personality turned off many kids. She was the butt of the joke for a while, but soon the other children realized Annis just didn't care and moved on to another victim. Annis doesn't let things get to her. She's fairly calm and level-headed, able to keep her cool when you least expect it. On the otherhand, the times you expect her to keep her cool, she tends to lose it. Annis is just a bit of a messed up, complex person. She was always a perfectionist; something she still is today with trying to make her children be normal, productive citizens of society. Of course, it hasn't worked too well on Haydn. > > She did well in school and went to Durham on a scholarships and loans. Being the daughter of a male schoolteacher who lost his wife in childbirth didn't mean lots of money was at her fingertips. She had to work hard for everything she has gotten and it's something she appreciates very much. Haydn often gets on her nerves for not working hard. She thinks it is a mark of a 'bad' person who won't go anywhere with their life. Remember, Annis is -very- opinionated. She's also as stubborn as a mule. What she believes goes. Luckily, Tiernan is such a complacent fellow he lets her run amok with her desires. > > As much as everyone else seemed to dislike her, they respected Annis. She always got things done in a very efficient manner, spoke in a clear and formulated way, and told the truth. She was very no nonsense and often the brains behind everything around her. Rhys and her share a close bond as they both take that approach. To her, life is what you make of it in terms of hard-work, success, and completed goals. > > Meeting Tiernan was -not- what Annis wanted. It did not fit into her schedule, to say the least. Annis is a planner and organizer and Tiernan Cyningesleah and children was -not- part of it. Unfortunately, she did fall in love with Tiernan and the two wed; having Haydn and Rhys to show for it. To put this is hard. Annis didn't want a family, but now that she has one, she loves it. She cares a lot for her children and husband, even if she doesn't always show it in the expected way. She chose to send her children to ISAS because she is very fond of the states and wants her children to learn appreciate a different country. > > She has wavy, copper-colored hair that falls to her mid-back. Her hair, like Haydn's, is silky and taken care of. She mostly keeps it up in a sleek chignon/bun, out of her face and out of the way. Besides her hair color and type, her facial features are most similar to Haydn's with narrow eyes, high cheekbones, and a small chin. Her eyes, though, are a very dark green color. Her eyelashes are blonde and curly, naturally so, with slightly shaped blonde eyebrows. Her lips are puckered and pink, looking as if she is constantly sucking on something sour. She stands at five foot one and could be pretty if she chose to be so. > > Brother: Rhys Cyningesleah # Student at ISAS # 13 > Rhys is very much the younger brother who should've been the elder; he is the opposite of Haydn in close to everyway possible and is constantly doing the damage control for the elder Cyningesleah. Haydn is thankful for his little brother, though he thinks Rhys should loosen up a bit. In all essence, Rhys is identical to his mother. > > Rhys, like Annis, is very much ambitious, dedicated, and driven by his goals. He wants to accomplish what he wants and will -not- let anyone get in his way. He works to the one-hundred and tenth percent, going far above and beyond whatever call he is to make. His teachers adore him, which he is quite smug about, but the other students look at Rhys like a 'loser'. It's true, he doesn't have any friends, but like his mum, he could careless. His way of looking at it is when he's making a seven digit salary, they'll still be making a low six digit. Rhys, like his mum, is very opinionated and doesn't hesitate to share what he thinks with a smug look. He's naturally smart, knows it, and is rather conceited. > > He pulls excellent grades and talk of skipping him in grades has been discussed. He talks to everyone, besides his teachers, like they are morons; his words slow and carefully said. He looks down on everyone around him, save Haydn who he just refuses to look at. Rhys won't admit it, but he is worried about his brother and wants to see Haydn get his life under control. In that aspect he works hard to make sure Haydn doesn't get into trouble. He'll often play sentry for Haydn and his friends; if just so he doesn't get kicked out, too. Rhys is worried that whatever happens to Haydn will be brought back to him. Brother like brother, eh? > > He refuses to play team-sports or any individual sport because it is just a waste of perfectly good studying time. He does play the flute, but doesn't put much practice time into it. He keeps a stiff upper-lip and doesn't talk much, only to reprimend others and-slash-or make a smug comment of how he knows the answer. Yeah, Rhys isn't very well-liked. > > Rhys has the full red-hair of his father and inherited the waves from his mother. It flows to his neck where it's tapered at the nape. His eyes are the same grass green as Haydn's and would be considered cute if he didn't wear square glasses the other kids joke he can see the moon with (they go to his eyebrows and the bottom of his nose XDD). He stands at five foot three (those Cyningesleah's are short) and is almost thinner than Haydn. He dresses in lots of sweaters and khaki pants, choosing to go for darker, muted shades. > > # School: ISAS (he be a foreigner sent from Cardiff, Wales) > # Likes: Haydn is more than well-known for his great advice. He writes the advice column for the ISAS paper (well, the male perspective/agony aunt) and has such a laidback manner with what he advises he has become the hit of the school. Haydn also finds joy in spoonerisms, such as poking the smot, which ironically is another of his favourite things. Haydn calls marijuana his "calming ritual" and loves to hang out in his dorm with his friends and dabble with the great joy of pot (he's just a recreational user, though)(his friends at ISAS have found an open window, two fans, and bunch of socks under the doorway combined with incense, CK cologne, and air spray works wonders on disguising it from the teachers). He is also an avid reader who spends a good chunk of his time on reading anything by Lewis Carroll or Chaucer. He also loves the Irish punk music like the dropkick murphys, bouncing souls, and big bad bollocks. He is, unsuccessfully, trying to start a band where he can play his guitar in that style. > # Dislikes: Rigid, strict people can slightly annoy Haydn. He doesn't seem to have much patience for people who try to change him or his lifestyle and he most absolutely does not put with people who treat others bad. He also doesn't like the folk who conform to non-conformity. He does have a strong accent and finds it rather annoying when people don't understand what he is saying a prime example is how he pronounces dog like "dag". And mum like "moom". And-- *Morgan gets whacked by a strong male arm*. Haydn has a strong dislike of horror films too, any and all scare the living beejesus out of him. Poor guy. He also sleeps with a nightlight because he is afraid of the dark. *long string of welsh-tinted expletives from the other room* (just because I thought it'd be interesting) > # Fav. Food: He loves sprouts for some unknown reason. Haydn also munches on dandelions, he doesn't eat them, he just chews on them. > # Hated Food: Haydn's parents took him on a holiday to France; now, that doesn't sound so bad does it? Well, for young Haydn it was quite bad. His mother decided that they needed to spend sometime touring the countryside (and that doesn't much worse does it? XD), but when they passed a particular farm and young Haydn saw a row of small dome-like houses, he asked what they were. His mother being no stranger to the phrase "take the bull by the horns" had a pale Tiernan take the children to the farm. The man in charge explained the raising of calf for veal. Haydn has since -never- been able to touch the substance. > # Fav. Subject: He absolutely adores horticulture. He's rather good at biology in some areas; the classification side. Haydn really doesn't have a favourite class, per se, as he does try to make the best of them. > # Hated Subject: Drama and French. American English seems like enough of a foreign language for him (as I am aware, Welsh is a foreign language to Oxford, but to Haydn it is not. He's much more used to Oxford and Welsh, not common to the American slang near as much as he is to Oxford, having spent time in England since he is from Wales) and he's just not very good at acting, he can't seem to really take on another persona and instead talks with little or no emotion, except for when he plays Lady Macbeth. > # Color: Yellow-green, green, or yellow. Those three are the best. > # Hobbies: Playing the guitar; Haydn is quite good on the guitar and is quietly writing a song to play for his love interest, provided he receives one. He has some sort-of twisted desire to want to serenade his female friend. Reading, writing sans 'rithmetic; Haydn loves to read anything he can get his hands on and he also loves to emulate the last style he read and write his own works. Haydn also has an odd fetish for bugs and has a collection of dead bugs (as well as few lives he keeps in jars). > # Aspirations: Haydn's goal in life is to move to Amsterdam, open a marijuana bar, and have the time of his life. He doesn't ever really want to grow up and would rather stay the age he is now, the point where no matter what he does he can't get into -too- much trouble and most of it is written off as a teen thing. Haydn also does want to go to University, just so he doesn't have to take over his family's farm. He likes the farmlife but thinks the sheep smell awful. > # Gemstone: Emerald. Haydn likes it particularly bright and clear, not the popular smokey kind. > > # History: Haydn was born an orphan, beaten at the home, and finally adopted by his rich grandfather who thought he had died. The end. Oh, wait, that's Oliver. Dammit! There went my whole idea. > > Actually, Haydn Brycen Cyningesleah was born to both of his parents (his mother was gripping onto the bed screaming expletives at her husband and telling him how much she wanted him to die) in a hospital by an experienced doctor. So, really, Haydn isn't much like Oliver and I suppose I was just hallucinating. The effect from being around Haydn too long? Most likely. > > His mother, Annis, and his father, Tiernan, met while at school at Durham. Tiernan came from a family in Wales who operated a sheep farm, while Annis was the daughter of a single schoolteacher who lost his wife in birth. They met, fell in love despite what Annis wanted, and eventually married - even more to Annis's disdain. When she became pregnant with Haydn a year later, she decided she really did hate Tiernan (memories of her mother) and became sort-of a domintrax to him. Unfortunately, instead Tiernan loved her so much that he took the role of a submissive husband, helping to create the early memories of Haydn's life. > > He did have a -fairly- normal childhood, though. His father was always on the farm, trying (key word there) to get Haydn to help him with the tasks. His mother sort-of abused Haydn's father, which in a way has cultivated Haydn to be more submissive then most, if not all, male teenagers. His mother, a top notch biochemist for Wales, very much loved his father and vice versa, only the two expressed it in a very odd way for an impressionable young man. His mother walloped his father, made him cook, had him clean, and forced him (but not really) to give her foot massages. Is Haydn a product of nurture? I don't know. He is quite afraid of his mother, though. > > He began school at a public school in Wales, where life was fine. Nothing great, nothing horrible. Just fine. He was always a bit of a loner, preferring to go it alone and play with dolls than talk to the other kids. He enjoyed making stories up and after his mother took the dolls away, he latched onto bugs and created loving stories of how Miss Ladybug was impregnated by Naughty Mr. Ant. He'd then proceed to squash Mr. Ant (he said Miss Ladybug did it) and let Miss Ladybug go. Needless to say, his mother felt he needed therapy. > > Therapy was an -interesting- experience for a six year old boy. He was often more interested in the shiny toys than in the actual talking to the doctor and just said whatever came to his mind. His therapist found nothing wrong with young Haydn and told his parents the boy was rather normal with some odd interests. Now, Annis did not agree with this and decided the answer was the stinky Wales public school. They encouraged her young boy to make up conversations with bugs instead of playing team sports. Tiernan believed Annis to be loony (a first for him to stand up to his wife) and bought Haydn an ant farm, this was fine until he broke it and ants got everywhere. After that Annis stamped out the "no-bugs-in-house" routine common among parents and decided that since her boy refused to play sports she'd buy him a musical instrument. The first choice was the piano, and how Haydn hated it. At eight, he tried the violin, but as much as he liked it he didn't like it, complaining it hurt his chin. So finally, at eight and three months, Haydn received a guitar and he found his first infatuation. Not his first love, that's later. > > The rest of the next eight years were nothing extraordinary. He lived with his mum and father, tortured his little brother. Generally, the Cyningesleah family was normal; at least as normal as you can get with a submissive father, a blunt mum, and Haydn. Poor Rhys thought his whole family was loony. They went on a few trips here and there, enrolled each boy in lessons for things they liked, and Tiernan tried (without any success) to get either of his sons into the farm. But, all dysfunctional things must come to end and home-schooling was taking the toll on Tiernan and Annis so they began looking into schooling around the world (as they believed the Welsh schooling to be absolutely nasty). Someone mentioned ISAS in Virginia (I'd believe it has a fairly rock solid reputation, yes?) and Annis checked it out, falling in love immediately. She was always a bit of a sucker for the states and had holidayed in Myrtle Beach as a younging (or whippersnapper as Clavius would say). The kids, Haydn and Rhys, were signed up to go. Annis felt this was especially good because her marriage with Tiernan was beginning to suffer from the strain and would give them, the parents, a good chance to rekindle the flame if you know what I mean. Somehow, Tiernan felt this right. He felt like his son had to go to this school, it was intense feeling so he relented, as usual to his wife. > > Two weeks later Haydn and Rhys were sent to ISAS. Rhys was twelve, a rather clingy boy, and seperated from his mummy and Haydn, at fifteen, were in Virginia by themselves. What a cruel world, hey? Not really, actually. Their parents came out all the time, though being seperated from his sheep was hard for Tiernan, and the boys were sent allowances biweekly so they could buy sweets, treats, clothing, whatever they wanted without mummy or father to try and 'weed' out what they could buy. As the years progressed, Haydn started growing up into the man he is now; a smot-poking loveable sort-of fellow. He made some excellent friends at ISAS (including his roommate, another friend from Wales. I'm presuming at ISAS they keep the dorms seperated by country?) and was introduced to his first love, marijuana. He's the laidback surferesque child whose calm, funny as hell, and stoned about 81% of the time. > > Personality > strengths: clear thinker. generous. optimistic. adventurous. free-spirited. inspirational. > in-between: outspoken. > weaknesses: blunt. impatient. indulgent. slight egoism. a moderate spaz. > > Haydn is a happy young man. He really lives to live, completely gung-ho about life and everything that each day brings. He is the type of person who can make something from anything and can cheer anyone up, even if it is generally by trying to offer them a freshly rolled marijuana joint. He doesn't seem to realise that marijuana is -not- the answer to everything, like he seems to think. He is free-spirited in every manner that one can be; he is up for whatever possible, loves to try new things, and thinks that every experience is a blessing in disguise. He is quick to remind people how very lucky they are to be alive. He's like a walking self-help book you want to throw out, but you can't. He's daily affirmations in a person! > > He has a very inspirational way with people, making them want to try the things he does and follow their dreams. He seems so strong and secure in who and what he is that people are naturally attacted to him and want to do as he does. In reality, he's just a crazed loon ^__-. Haydn has the calm demeanor that people love him for from the fact he is almost always stoned. He isn't the stoner that most people think of, though. Rather, he handles it very well and the only effect it really has on him is bloodshot eyes and, ironically, a clearer mind. He finds he can actually focus more. > > Rarely anyone dislikes him and it's hard to find something to dislike about him. He treats everyone like they are his equal and is quick to yield to whoever else and what -they- want. He despises confrontation and wants to get along with people. He rarely, if ever, raises his voice and is a local meditator for fights and arguments in the dorm. People trust Haydn for good, sincere advice and he almost always comes through with excellent advice that really works. Perhaps that's why his column in the school paper is such a hit. > > He loves to have fun and take chances. He doesn't want to be bogged down by anything and just wants to kick back and have a good time. Nothing seems to faze him and that -can- bother some people who want to get a rise out of him. He dislikes drama queens and people who are -too- emotional. He doesn't mind sharing his feelings so to speak, but he'll do so with the people he wants to. The most annoying thing to Haydn is when girls ask him "are you alright?" because he isn't talking a mile a minute. > > Haydn is very blunt with what he says. He doesn't believe in lying or sugarcoating the truth. He tells it like it is and that can hurt a lot of feelings. He does have a way with saying things that, though people get miffed, they can't stay upset with him. He is so caring and such a pleasure to be around that no one ever really wants to be seperated from that. He has a mannerism that makes people feel better about themselves and he encourages everyone to do what makes -them- happy, not society. Yes, Haydn can frequently be heard saying the popular phrase "damn the man!" > > He's quite optimistic and refuses to think anything bad will ever really happen. Every situation can be handled and you will get past it, every situation happens for a reason whether it is so you can grow as a person or so you open your eyes to something, it happened for a reason so accept it. To Haydn everything works out in the end, so people really have no reason to worry about whether or not their date will go okay or cry over spilt milk. He's so laidback that he grows impatient with people who bitch, moan, and complain -too- much. People should just be happy in his opinion. Of course when people are looking for sympathy Haydn is a bad choice. He is a good friend and a great listener, he just isn't patient enough to let them whine and moan when what they should do is smoke a joint and cheer right on up. > > He's not afraid to say what he wants to say and can and will defend what he believes in. An intellectual boy, he surprises many people who think he is just another one of those teenager snowboarder/sufer (though he does neither of those sports) types. He has a very clear thought process, thinking things through to the fullest. He is always fully aware of his actions and their consquences. Haydn never fears them, but accepts them. He accepts who he is and loves it unconditionally, the weed-rolling, funny, amusing guy he is. The love he has for himself reflects in a slight egoism, but is also the crowning reason why others feel so good around him. He rubs off on others, his laughter contagious and smile infectious. > > # Appearance > # hair color: It's an odd amassment of copper, flaming red, and bleach blonde. He reminds people on average of once a day that "it's auburn, not red". He doesn't like it much and is gearing on dying it some sort-of crazy color and cutting himself a mullet. > # hair style: Haydn cares about his hair, ironically. It's fairly silky to the touch (he can use a full bottle of conditioner in a week) and he gets it trimmed whenever he fears of split ends (disregard the fact his roommate is the one who cuts it). He keeps it long and shaggy so it falls into his eyes, rather the popular look with the "skaters" of today. He doesn't have his haircut like that because of a specific clique, but rather because it looks quite nice with his facial shape. > # eyes: A vibrant green, they remind one of perfect grass in lazy summer days. They're a bit narrower then the most of people and are almost always half-shut as if he is asleep walking. They are ringed with very light bags and have curly, light eyelashes that leave a bit of a shadow on his face. He does have a long scar under his right eye, which takes away from his looks, from when he fell playing rugby and got kicked in the face. > # face: Haydn has an odd face. It's sort-of like a Picasso painting; it looks like it would be weird, but it fits together in a strong way. He might very well be considered as the odd sort-of good-looking. He has a chiseled jaw with a small sort-of chin that juts out rather prominently for being so small. His cheekbones are high and defined in a feminine way, but they look right for his square-head XD. His nose is small and ski-jumped with a slight turn at the end like he is scoffing. > # height: He's rather short for a male, standing in at a mere 5'6. > # build and weight: Haydn is for lack of better word, a bit more on the puny side. He doesn't really do any sports besides run cross-country, which has given him nice leg muscles, but not much when regarding the upper body. > # clothing: Haydn's method of chosing what to wear is picking it off of the floor or out of laundry basket, sniffing it, examining it for stains, shaking out the wrinkles, and throwing it over his head. He has a lot of interesting shirts with funny logos on them such a gray one that says "atari" on the front and a bright yellow one that shows a comic strip on how to drop your girlfriend. He wears a lot of denim (in the slightly baggy style popular with most teenagers), preferring darker shades to the lighter tones. Basically, Haydn dresses like the stereotypical skateboarder even if he couldn't skateboard to save his dear own life. > # voice: Haydn has a low tenor, higher bass sort-of voice. It's fairly deep at times (read when he is high), but sort-of squeaky when he is completely clean. He does have a nice singing voice, slightly tinged with his thick welsh accent, if you like the sort-of scratchy voice popular in punk and alt music that is. He talks in normal English, slightly tinged with Welsh, but can and will turn on a full Welsh accent if he wants. > # carriage: He well, uh, slouches. Haydn is generally hunched over, playing with something or rolling something. He doesn't care too much for good posture. When he walks he sort-of strut, shuffles along with a glazed look over his face. He tends to walk into things a lot and tries to brush them off as a cheap laugh even when he did it by accident. XD > # overall: If you like the skater look, you'd adore Haydn. He looks like he has stepped right outside of pacific sunwear (if any of you are familiar with that store) and into the RPG. I half expect Haydn to walk around carrying a longboard and say "wicky wicky", but as it is Haydn doesn't partake at all in that sport. He is rather thin, rather short, but also attractive in a rather adorable way. He doesn't look young, he just has a wide range of facial expressions. He also has to be careful with his skin as his chin is suspectible to spots and he is constantly fighting them off. He is slightly vain in his appearance, but he also knows he isn't the best looking person to date, which is fine with him. He does try to look better than average, though. > > II. Senshi > # Fuku > Sombrero looks retarded for lack of better word. He has the most -lame- fuku anyone could dream of (Haydn> of course Morgan did). If you've seen Speedy Gonzales off of Loony Toons, you have a fairly good idea of what Sombrero wears. > First, he has a loose white shirt paired with loose white pants. His shirt is tucked in and around his waist is a jaunty green sash, tied on the side. (I feel compelled to yell OLE!) His shoes are brown leather sandals, but he will kick them off if he doesn't feel like wearing them (sucks for him if he has to run, doesn't it? As is, though, Haydn generally wears sandals to school, anyway). In winter, interestingly enough, his shoes become brown leather boots. Neat fact, but anyway. He has a pair of fingerless mittens on, the color being green with leather interior (for gripping the weedwhacker, doh). Over his shoulders is the mexican-influenced shawl, only his pattern seems to be more like weeds than the exact traditional replica. Finally, completing the outfit is the oh-so-trite sombero that ties beneath his neck so it doesn't fall off. Often, his hat is hanging on his lower back. > > # Transformation > To begin his transformation Haydn hooks his thumb in his pants, the skin pressing onto the tattoo. He puts his other hand to his mouth, two fingers pressed over his lips like he is smoking something. As he says "Sombrero", he rips his thumb from his pants, thick weeds springing from his hip and wrapping around him; some go upwards, others go downwards. "GALAXIA", the weeds are left exposing his eyes, half of his nose, and his mouth. His two fingers on his mouth come forward like he is blowing a kiss and sound ironically close to a weedwhacker can be heard as the weeds begin to fly away. "POWER!", the cut weeds swirl around him, forming the shape of his uniform while glowing a neat shade of yellow/green. "MAKEUP!" the color fades away, leaving Sombrero there in place instead. He is leaning on a green John Deere weedwhacker, a jaunty grin on his face. > > ** I hope the transformation phrase was right; Sombrero Galaxia Power, Makeup! > > # Powers > "Devilsnare!" > Sombrero starts this attack with his palms up, outstretched in front of him (rather like the beginning of the macarena, but flip the hands), and as he shouts out the name of the attack, he flips his hands around, drops into a low crouch, and places his palms on the ground. He clenches his hands deep into the dirt, jumping back up like he is ripping the ground with him. A slight rumble issues beneath him as the earth where he was splits open (he shuts itself back up ;D) and thick, twisting green weeds spring from the ground, snaking themselves around whoever (one or more persons) Sombrero directed the attack on. It is a full body bind, starting at the feet and travelling upwards. > Sombrero can keep his attack going until the person either falls into unconsciousness or he chooses to be done with it. The rate of unconsciousness depends solely on the person as well as if they have sustained previous attacks. Obviously, someone with more strength left is going to be less likely to fall into the state before someone who has been beat to oblivion :D. A secret with the attack is the more you struggle, the tighter it'll bind to you. Sombrero doesn't usually choose to keep the weeds on until someone faints (once the weeds fully dissipate which takes about thirty seconds after the attack is finished the person will revive), but often uses it more to keep someone in place so his teammates can attack. The attack can rope in more than one person, but more than three won't work; and as another person is added, the less tight it gets > The setbacks and limitations for the attack are in the fact he cannot use the attack until dusk has fallen as any light or fire will cause the weeds to shrink back down into the ground. Depending on the amount of energy Sombrero uses (if he keeps it until the person faints he drains more power, etc etc) he can use this up to three times. It takes his full concentration and focus to keep the attack working and the longer he uses it, the more energy is drained. I would suspect someone could run off with the weedwhacker; wouldn't that be interesting? (Just a minor note is this attack does work anywhere as long as there isn't light; inside, outside, he just has to be on the ground). > > "Weeding!" > Quite possibly the favourite attack of Sombrero. He begins the attack by moving hs weedwhacker along the ground for a moment, happily oblivious to anyone else (the plus is he can this before he begins the attack, or keep it there for next time, but see the restrictions for more information on that). He then raises his weedwhacker high the air; his arms extended fully above his head and his eyes closed. After a moment of silence he calls out "WEEDING!" and starts spinning in a circle, swinging the weedwhacker high in the air. As he begins to spin faster and faster, razor sharp blades of grass and various other things he whacked come spraying from the weedwhacker in all directions; teammate or not. > So, let's get down to explaining this attack, yes? Sombrero is the -only- one who cannot be hurt by this attack, which is why he probably love it so very much. He finds it excellent to use when he is fighting more than one person, and will normally let his teammates know he is going to use it by saying "pull up your socks!". Anyone else who understands that phrase is also left out of being hit. Oh, look, Haydn cares about his teammates. The damage caused from the blades varies only on how fast he is spinning. The can become quite lethal if he gets going really fast, but he normally dances in a drunken circle causing them to inflict minor cuts all over various persons and body parts. > Haydn's weedwhacker is a very special weedwhacker. It's super industrial strength! Basically, his weedwhacker can whack anything he wants. Dirt, grass, glass, asphalt. You name it, Haydn's whacker will take it out. In the manner that that happens, Haydn can use any thing he whacks in this attack. After it's been whacked, it magically appears to be as it was without missing a large chunk. He does have the night factor where he can power up the attack beforehand (ie the last battle) and have blades of grass waiting for him. It's typical for Haydn to transform before he goes on patrol, find a patch of grass, and do as said; that way he can use the attack at least once. The energy drain on this attack is very little as it doesn't require much. He does have the habit of becoming dizzy and disorganised afterwards (it screams "attack"), but that also depends on his speed. He can get three full turns in; lasting up to thirty, forty seconds at most. > > "Mushroom cloud!" > Sombrero plucks any sort-of weed he can find and pops it in his mouth. Sounds pretty common, doesn't it? Ah, no. He closes his eyes, concentrates as hard as he can, and raises his weedwhacker close to his face (thankfully; it's turned off or someone could push into his face and uh, that's really suck). He puffs on the weed, blowing air into the little spinny things on the bottom of the weedwhacker. Slowly, ever so, it begins turning and Sombrero extends it from his face, turning the on switch to 'high'. He murmurs "Mushroom" under his breath as a yellow cloud comes floating out of the weedwhacker in the general direction of person directed at (though, anyone standing close to his target will also be affected by this). As the happy cloud drifts closer to the person he yelles out "CLOUD!" and it speeds at them, covering them and anyone within two feet of them in a sickly scent that can cause them to do various things. Those things, depending how their will against it, can cause them to sob, laugh hysterically, attack an ally; basically do something to stop them from attacking. I guess you could say he renders them temporarily insane. > He can only use this attack if he has some sort-of weed -and- on this case he can only find a weed when he is about to perform the attack; not stocking up and hording in his pocket. The duration of the attack lasts for however long it can on the person(s). It affects everyone differently, which means I can't really go into much detail on how it lasts. Say, it attacked Hedy; she doesn't have much will as herself, she hates being there as is, so it may last for the whole battle on her. Say, it attacked Sophie; as leader and pretty determined, it may not even work. Mushroom Cloud can work once or twice in battle, depending on all what he is done. He doesn't really like doing it as the attack can backfire and include his teammates (Rick can still beat Haydn up). > > If all else fails Sombrero will just begin beating everyone with his weedwhacker. It does hurt, it is metal afterall. XD > > # Guardian > Clavius is a rather -discontent- cricket. I don't think he had any desire to be a guardian let alone a -cricket- at that, but somehow Clavius wound up as a gurdian, cricket and all. Clavius, shortly, found out his guarding would be over a certain Haydn Cyningesleah and he didn't like that too much either. Taking care of a "whippersnapper" (in Clavius's words) made Clavius want to find an unfriendly human who would end it all. Truth being told, Clavius is afraid of everyone BUT Haydn, just don't tell him I told you that. Clavius is also very, very, very, let me make sure you get this, very old. I'm talking, older than the oldest possible person you could think of. It's not the fact he's been around for a couple thousand of years, but because he is just -old-. He wheezes when he talks, refers to everyone as whippersnapper, youngling, fledgling, or some other old coot term, and has a rather morose way of speaking. He's pretty perverted and nasty, too, but hey that's a different story. When you think of an old man, you think they'd be someone serene and comforting, but Clavius is anything but. He's a whiney, nagging, discomforting bug who is -never- happy seemingly and really overuses the phrase "back in nam" (which he coined from hearing Haydn and his friends use; and feels that it just sounds cool. This old man would steal from Haydn. He is just like that.). > He is, though, very much a friend to Haydn. Clavius does love Haydn and cannot imagine being the guardian of anyone else. He thinks the world of Haydn, whether or not he shows it, and would do anything for his Sombrero. He doesn't care so much about the other Astronomia senshi/soldiers and is rather lazy (and out of shape, having to catch his breath from crawling out of his cage). Clavius is, on occasion, referred to as geezer by Haydn and that will cause Clavius to rub his cricket legs together and play a rather annoying tune. Is it Clavius's secret attack? I think so. > Haydn keeps Clavius in a small wooden cage, just so none of his roommates step on the little bugger. Clavius also has no qualms of speaking to Haydn when his friends around, but that could be because they are often rather high and find it not so very strange to see a cricket talking. When Haydn first encounters Clavius he is going to wonder if he is high and the talking cricket is just a side effect. After that encounter, Clavius gets high with Haydn and his friends all the time. Yes, step right up and see the amazing old, talking, high cricket! > If you were wondering what Clavius looks like, he looks like a regular cricket (black, small, etc etc). When and if ever in human form he is -old-; frighteningly so with no exacty age, with nasty, tangly grey hair to his ears, a long grey beard that has food crumbs and other gross things hanging around in it, squinty black eyes, and clothed in black old man pants and a raggedy black crochet sweater that used to be quite nice I'd suspect. He shuffles and wheezes a lot when human. He also has a cane, which he liked to whack people with. I wouldn't be surprised if human Clavius would hang out in the park and trip children with his cane. He's really not so nice. > > SMYTH/STAR/ANGEL > So, Haydn came into my head one day out of the blue. I knew I had this character concept for some smot-poking really loveable guy who was afraid of the dark, wrote an advice column, and came from one bizarre family. The problem was who should he be and what would a good base be? I originally thought about making him the NPC boyfriend of Hedy (turns out she'd do better with someone else | Haydn> thank heavens SQUARE) just for giggles and heart attacks of her father, but when talking about the character concept to Tami. . .I realised Haydn needed to be his own character. > > I thought Pan at first, but then realised that he wasn't open as all those spots were taken. I knew I wanted to make him single and in Roanoke because the lack of male there is just. . .disgusting. I found Sombrero and decided to use a unique powerbase and viola; Sombrero, the Soldier of Weeds was born. His attacks are various types of weeds and utilize the various things weeds can do, but basically just pesky attacks. > > His personality was shaped from the fact I wanted him to be scared of girls, funny, stoned (but the cute way, not the really, I'm stoned yo!), sort-of spastic, spacey, and just a vibrant, electric character who everyone could relate to. Haydn just sort-of started coming together that way. As I wrote one thing, it made me realise something else and opened doors to a completely new idea of him. Clavius was just a mistake. (he's a cricket, crickets live in weeds, Sombrero is soldier of weeds, good?) He's a crater from the moon, I doth believe. > > There you go, Haydn Cyningesleah was born. > > Writing Sample > booya. I don't have to. > > Questionnaire > Your Name: Morgan > Your E-mail: --------- > Your Homepage: -- > Are you in any other rpgs? If so, which ones, and what characters do you play?: Iapetus. > Will you allow your senshi to be killed? If not, why?: NO! DON'T KILL HAYDN! *sobsob* No, really, if Haydn needs to die. . .Haydn will die. I'd rather (nor would Rach or Tami) -not- see him die, but if the boy has to go, off he will go, right?
