Rome, Italy. Not really a place most people make a Sailormoon-based rpg. All that's about to change! After all, Rome is the ideal place for Graikos, Romanus, Egyptian, and Noord Senshi!

Tami here. The old information on this page was hideously outdated, and it unfortunately meant that all the applicants (even the ones native to Italy) had placed their kidaroos in International schools they probably wouldn't have gone to. Since the age levels in Rome are skewed to the point where most of the action doesn't take place in schools, this doesn't matter very much, but we like to get our information correct!

Here are some helpful school links:

RomeSchools.org - Basically, what we had up before, except without my totally witty commentary.
Italian School System - Some really interesting information on the Italian school system that will help you in learning what year your wee one should be in.
Google.com - Hate to break it to you, but if you've got a native kid and you need a native high school, just shop around here with "rome" + "high school" and you'll come across something. Since we don't actually spend much time IN the school where stories are concerned, this part totally doesn't matter as much as it does in Roanoke.

What do matter, however, are the universities; some of the interaction will most definitely take place there. These are easier to access on the Internet than the lower-level schools. Here's some basic stats for you applicants out there as of 3/5/04, as to which character goes where -

Schools:

Vincenzo Arangio Ruiz High School - Enza Fabrizio/Parthenope
St. George's British International - Nyssa Sibley/Nun, Mathilde Bernadone/Seth, Willow DeHavelind/Nut
Ambrit Rome International - Maya Jilal/Psyche, Ramakeele Qaboza/Artemis
Castelli International - Alix Schlatter/Balder, Allegro da Capo/Erato, Andante da Capo/Polyhymnia, Hope Parker/Pandora
American Overseas - Eric Warner/Pluto, Nika Kachine/Luonnotar, Desi Calavera/Gerda

Universities:

Università di Roma (University of Rome) - Ciano Silvestri/Khepri
John Cabot University - Nell Daray/Diana, Stavros Salvi/Discordia, 'Dagio da Capo/Bragi, 'Cenzo Ianniello/Narcissus

(If I've gotten any of these wrong, my darling players, please contact me.)

Well, so where do you go if you can't hang around school, you ask? How do I skew my app so I can meet people, you plead? Worry no more, gentle readers. This is half information gleaned from stories and half for fun, so don't take me seriously on many points (except if you would like to, hurr). Important concepts are bolded!

La Fabrizio - This is the pottery shop down a little cobble street in one of the poorer parts of Rome; it's where Rafael Fabrizio lives and makes his wares. You can easily come and investigate if you are a tourist, an artist, needing a gift or checking out the desk boy. The desk boy is one Desiderio Calavera, and he is having it off with the potter. (Sorry, girls.) Senshi found wandering here are the potter's erstwhile incredibly sexy best friend Adam Le Blanc, erstwhile cousin handing out pamphlets about why God hates you Enza Fabrizio, and Elena Majella who ostensibly comes for the inevitable stream of sarcasm.

Since there is little place else, this pottery is also a constant meeting site for the Romanus and the Kemets. If they are not found here, they perhaps can be found at the next location.

Sale della Terra - A friendly street cafe that serves delicious food by day and is a chic hotspot by night, you will probably really come here for the delicious hunks of manflesh that are the waiters. Both Adam Le Blanc and Stavros Salvi make their living here, and thusly it is crawling with both women and the Romanus/Kemet team. The tap water is free, and you may drink it or dash it into the face of a team member you dislike. Many of the other senshi come here for the good food - you may even find the snobby upper crust of Rome's elite dining here discreetly by night. (Hi, Zio.)

Pan e Vida - The bakery/eatery establishment owned by the Salvaticis. See La Fabrizio - which it is one block over and down the corner away from - only with less gaiety. You may find Alessia hanging around here. See also the values of hanging around the backstreets.

The Gym - There are probably hundreds of them in Rome, but why let numbers conquer us? Just go to the same gym that Adagio da Capo and Cecily McRae go to, and you may see them both in little running shorts.

Ciao Kachine - A little restaurant/cafe run by the Kachines, Nika waiters here as familial slave labour. It is seen as a cheap yet sexy option for the youth pandering to Rome's nightlife. You may eat or get the snot beaten out of yourself here by other senshi.

Carducci Gallery - If you are really snobby, rich, arty or hot you may come hang around Carducci Gallery, in which a certain sexy Zio Moreno is partner in. If you do not admire the art, you can always hang around looking slutty and hope that you are picked up by Zio or his sex-maniac buddy business acquaintance Derek Lukas. Being rich or knowing somebody rich or dating somebody rich goes a long way here. You could also always go to to the less-snobby Pose Gallery run by Femmie Qaboza and filled with South African art, but it is inevitably filled with hippies and it hasn't got Zio, so who'd want to spend time there.

Hints:

If you are on the lower-class spectrum or are a poverty-stricken college student you will probably end up hanging around the cafes or the area that the Fabrizios and the Salvaticis inhabit. If you are native plot dictates you may even inevitably be related. These two families are in a state of constant feud, but prepare for disappointment - they do not actually dance around and sing like the Jets and the Sharks.

You may also be intellectual and mingle in cafes and poetry clubs with cultured teachers like Orell or perhaps teenage geniuses like Willow.

  • If you are small and cute and a ballerina, all the better for you. If we get any more after Hope and Alix and possibly Lalasa, we could have a small cute ballerina thing going on, and then we can murder you all at once.
  • Don't be afraid to be wealthy or powerful, or at least have the possibility of mixing with the Rich Bastard's Club. The 'bastard' is completely optional, but there is a distinct circle that the rich, businessy and powerful of Sailor Myth: Rome move in - you may have noticed these families as Nell and Derek of the Lukas-Darays (LDI), Vincenzo of the Ianniellos, Delilah of the mafia Ciprianos, Adagio, Andante and Allegro of the da Capos, etc, etc. Other individual rich bitches include Mathilde Bernadone (on account of the famous sister), Zio Moreno (on account of being totally sexy in that shirt and moving in the right powerful business circles, the cutthroat), Elena Healy (on account of being a sexy young engineer) and Galina Wojna (on account of being cute and a diplomat).

If you are part of this group you will probably be expected to know who these people are shagging. However, you will also probably get invited to awesome parties.

You may also get into this illustrious circle by attaching yourself to one of the aforementioned, either by having them take pity on you (hi, Ammon) or having them totally have the hots for you (hi, Cecily).

  • If you are gay, lesbian, bisexual or just plain easy you will immediately get on with most of the cast. You may rub shoulders or the body part of your choice in various clubs and bars all over Rome with other senshi.

Derek, Nell, Adam, Vincenzo and Mathilde are openly gay or bisexual. Desi and Rafe are robbing the cradle gay and taken, except when they are not. You may always live in hope that the rest of the cast is just confused or Shep, and will do anything after a few drinks. (Except for the children, you dirty fiends.)

It's not that we're perverts, we're just exploring all the themes of sexuality and sex in this location because everybody is emotionally retarded or pregnant at the drop of a hat in Roanoke, and - we give up, pass the lube.
